Currently with the Arizona Diamond backs Doug Davis made his MLB debut on August 9th, 1999 for the Texas Rangers. Davis has played for the Rangers, Toronto Blue Jays and the Milwaukee Brewers. Davis mixes a slightly above-average low-70s/high-60s curveball, a mid-80s fastball and a strong cutter which he uses as his putaway pitch to strike batters

On March 28, 2008 Davis was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. April 10, 2008 following surgery to remove his thyroid it was announced he was cancer free. Davis returned to the Diamondbacks rotation on May 23, 2008.
