Two tickets to the Thursday, May 7, 2009 Rag's Riches:  Jonathan Baptiste & Imani Winds concert at Merkin Concert Hall.  This concert will reveal two excitingly different approaches to the dialogue between jazz writing and improvisation, touching on the history of jazz from the ragtime era to the present day.  Young New Orleans virtuoso Jonathan Baptiste applies a New Orleans flair to ragtime and classic jazz and Imani Winds will present the fruits of their collaborations with living jazz composers, along with their own arrangements of the jazz works of the past.
