Miguel Quintana, who began his broadcast career in Phoenix 21 years ago, is in his ninth season as the Diamondbacks' Spanish play-by-play voice.
Miguel began his career as a 15-year-old sportswriter for El Sol in Agua Prieta, Sonora. In 1981, he joined KIFN Radio (now KVVA) in Phoenix as a sports commentator, and later moved to KTVW (Channel 33), eventually becoming sports director. Quintana also worked in Los Angeles for KVEA-TV, before returning to the Valley in 1995 to serve as play-by-play voice for the Arizona Sandsharks indoor soccer team.
Miguel has been a baseball commentator for the Mexican Pacific League and has done play-by-play for the Arizona Rattlers. He has three daughters, Lisette (21), Jasmine (16) and Jennifer (11), and two sons, Miguel Jowad (1) and the newest arrival, Khalid Omar, born on January 2."
