James Bartell is an artist living in Eugene, Oregon. He is in his eighties and has lived there with his wife, Bonnie, who is also an artist, since they were both students at the University of Oregon in the 1950s. His expressions have been in many media - painting, sculpture, and even glass blowing. He made his living for many years designing and installing decorative plastic panels in architecture in a kind of 20th Century take on stained glass. Many buildings in Eugene, Portland and elsewhere in Oregon display his work integrated into the structures.
