Description

Five lucky kids can come spend the afternoon with Sun Valley Dad, Phil Neal, at his toy studio. He'll show them how a toy idea can travel from your brain, to paper, to computer, to prototype, to presentation, to production, and finally to the shelves of Toys R' Us!!  We'll take a peek at some fun (highly confidential) prototypes, presentation boards, and sizzle videos he uses to pitch ideas to toy manufacturers. We'll also take a look at the toys Phil's placed with various companies, and finish with a toy brainstorm session. Along the way, we'll eat some yummy, creativity-inducing snacks. Kids will leave with an inventor kit, some inspiration, and a better understanding of how they can bring their own toy ideas to life!

Phil's invention and licensing company, go products, inc. in Greenbrae, has been tinkering with toys and other consumer products for over fifteen years. He is also a co-founder of the upstart sports toy company Diggin. Toys he's helped bring to market include Fisher-Price's Shake n Go Racers and Smart Cycle brands, Radica's Say What? game and other fun stuff.  He's the dad of 3rd grader Delaney Neal and Kindergartener Charlotte Neal.

Ages: 2nd - 5th graders
