Here's the opportunity for your student to "run" The Summit School for the day. In other words, your child will get to be Dr. Joan Mele-McCarthy for the day. The day will begin outside with Dr. Mele-McCarthy in the morning to greet the students as they arrive for school. The "director"  will accompany Dr. Mele-McCarthy to her office to review the day's schedule and then begin the work of being the director. Your child will be able to write one proclamation that will take effect the following week (of course subject to Dr. Mele-McCarthy's approval) such as no homework or an extra recess. Dr. Mele-McCarthy will also take your child and two friends out to lunch.  At the end of the day, your child and 110 of his/her closest Summit friends will all enjoy popsicles. The day will be documented with a photograph since this will surely be a cherished memory. Also, the marquee at the entrance to the school will also recognize this special event!
