From Viewpoint's John Flagler and Alexa Chappellet Flagler come these two wonderful magnums of Chappellet Merlot, a 2002 and a 2003. These highly rated Merlots are only available from the winery.

The wine as been described as: a rich, silky and hedonistic Merlot, this wine begins with vibrant aromatics of raspberry and red and black cherry, accented by clove, anise and a hint of pepper that evolves to layers of juicy, ripe fruit, smoke, molasses and spicy oak.

In crafting these Napa Valley Merlots, the winemaker focuses on rich and weighty selections of the varietal grown on their Pritchard Hill Vineyards. Year after year, these intensely flavorful berries from their hillside vines yield robust and supple wines highlighting signature elements of cherry, plum and dark chocolate. For added depth and structure, our winemaking team blends in small amounts of additional Bordeaux varietals. To ensure complexity and integration, our Napa Valley Merlot is patiently aged for approximately 18 months in a mixture of the finest French and American oak barrels.
