Over the course of nearly a decade, The Golden West Cafe has become a beloved Baltimore culinary institution. Originally opened in a hole-in-the-wall sized space on The Avenue in Hampden, the restaurant relocated to a larger space just up the street in 2003 in order to accomodate the constantly expanding crowd of loyal regulars and curious new customers.
In September of 2004 the Golden West unveiled The Long Bar, which has since become a welcome addition to our late night crowd (Open Sun-Thurs until 1am & Fri-Sat until 2am); where else can you score a Breakfast Burrito past midnight?
Known best for their breakfast and brunch fare rooted in traditional New Mexican specialties (imagine different combinations of eggs, beans, meats, and tortillas smothered in rich, spicy green chile sauce,) they also offer an eclectic lunch and dinner menu. Our menu caters to diverse tastes; where else can your party enjoy a breakfast burrito, Thai chicken and mint salad, wild Maine blueberry pancakes, a green chile cheeseburger, and a vegan bbq riblet sandwich simultaneously?
They are located at 1105 W. 36th Street, just around the corner from Falls Rd. on The Avenue in Hampden, one of Baltimore's most distinct neighborhoods. Their atmosphere is casual, family-friendly and often bustling. Our dining area is eclectically decorated with seasonal flair, and they feature a smoke-free bar with a wide selection of beers and more.
