Description

Grand Central,  In Your Home and At Your Feet!

Win a signed copy of the highly-praised PBS American Experience documentary Grand Central, watch it in the comfort of your home, and then join PS 29 dad and Oscar-nominated and Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Michael Epstein on an intimate and revealing tour of the world’s greatest train station. Michael—who spent months researching and filming Grand Central—will show you things you’ve never seen (like the station’s secret “whispering spot” where you can transport messages from one area of the station to the next, via the wall) and tell you more about things you have (there’s real gold up in them thar fixtures!). Afterwards--if you’re so inclined and of legal age—he’ll take you to the historic and elegant Campbell Apartment for a retro-cocktail and answer any remaining questions you might have. This one is great for groups, and kids will find it fascinating too (all but the drinks!)

More about Grand Central:

Such an entertaining wallow for New York PBS viewers that it’s disconcerting to note that it was produced, as World Series champions are these days, in Boston, by the public television station WGBH. Think of it as a peace offering. (New York Times)

More about Michael:
Michael Epstein is a documentary director, writer, and producer whose work has been nominated for an Academy Award, and been awarded a George Foster Peabody, an Emmy, and a Writers Guild Award.
Epstein's latest effort, Combat Diary: The Marines of Lima Company was nominated for a 2006 Primetime Emmy for Exceptional Merit in Non-Fiction Filmmaking. Both Newsweek and the Los Angeles Times have heralded Combat Diary as the best film about the Iraq War.

This is a Live Event Item.
