Storyteller, musician and urban griot David Pleasant was raised in the Gullah/Geechee culture of Georgia — namely Sapelo Island, Darien/McIntosh County and Savannah — and his work is full of the retained African traditions in the region. A high-energy journey into polyrhythmic percussion featuring Ring Shout, ring play, Juba, hand jive, tambourine, hambone and banjo/banja. Expect a big collection of homemade instruments and lots of call and response—fun for the whole family.
