The Red Tanagers ceramic bowl was inspired by the harlequin images of the Commedia dell'arte. Stripes of tape were placed n the bowl to create triangular shapes. Each one was numbered to ensure that each child would have an even space to express their coloring enthusiasm. The children then played a little game, where they pulled a number out of a hat to determine which spot to paint in their own choice of color.
