Description

WE GOT RHYTHM

Don't worry. You will, too, once you host this African Dance class accompanied by live drums. Instructor Peter Bass and Accompanist Roderick Jackson will lead your introductory class for up to 15 people, employing the traditional dance and drum rhythms of Guinea, West Africa.

Mr. Bass has worked with choreographers Eugene Loring, Mimi Garrard, Marleen Pennison, and Phoebe Neville, along with the Les Muses d'Arbeau Dance Ensemble. He has taught at Williamstown Theatre Festival, Stella Adler Studio, and is currently a movement instructor at the Playwrights Horizons Theater School
. Mr. Jackson has collaborated with Chet Walker, Omar Edwards, and Jonathan Demme. He is currently a percussionist on staff at the Alvin Ailey School of American Dance and Broadway Dance Center.
