Capturing an image with direct paint application using expressive brush strokes entices me to paint. The richness and luminescence of oil paint continues to fascinate me.

My intent is to paint color, light and shadows rather than painting the subject I am looking at. I strive to see colors and shapes and to transfer those images to my canvas. When beginning a painting, I work to convey my feelings before considering any details.
