"It all started with a book I found at a yard sale. It was a book on macrobiotic eating. Everything in that book was so foreign to me. It was as if I was reading another language. Sea vegetables, whole grains, aduki beans, beet greens? All I had known up to that point was iceberg lettuce, white rice and chicken.
The book also said to learn shiatsu, which is a form of Japanese massage, and to learn acupuncture...I was hooked. I started to study Asian healing after I graduated from college. I also began to read anything I could get my hand on about nutrition. I studied shiatsu, acupuncture and nutrition.
I went to California to study with Paul Pitchford who wrote Healing with Whole Foods. He is an unassuming, tiny man, who packs a big punch. Many of the things in this report, I learned from him, and others, along the way.
I learned how the body could heal. Not just physically, but how we could heal our emotions and our family legacies or DNA. I learned how emotions are connected to specific organs and how to keep the organs and the system healthy. I learned how to keep my weight at a normal range, even though that had been impossible for most of my life.
By adopting different eating habits I learned how to deal with my cravings and emotions. I very rarely think about my weight anymore. I don't even worry about it! I love helping others to achieve the same goal.
