Jay Greenberg enrolled in Juilliard School of Music at age 10 and composed his fifth symphony by age 13 – an impressive beginning to a musical career that has captured national media attention. Greenberg, now 17, will be interviewed on stage during the first half of this program. Then, you’ll hear a full performance of his extraordinary Symphony No. 5 – a work that reveals Greenberg's immense talent and gift for drama and lyricism.

One special feature of this concert—a projection screen on the Orchestra Hall stage, bringing you a close up view of Greenberg’s interview and Orchestra musicians as they perform his Fifth Symphony.
