Goebel Standing Basset Hound

Item Number: 199
Time Left: CLOSED

Description
This is an amazing item! Tri-colored, glossy finish, standing basset hound. We think it's porcelain, but we're not positive! Stamp on belly says, "Goebel, WGermany". There's also a number on the left rear leg, 30 045.
From the Goebel website: "The Goebel Company opened its doors over a century ago in 1871 at the foot of the Coburg Castle in Oeslau. Then known simply as F&W Goebel, after its co-founders Franz Detleff and William Goebel, the first items produced were slates, slate pencils and marbles. Soon, as a result of dynamic management and progressive thinking, Goebel expanded its production first to include porcelain coffee services, milk pitchers and eggcups and later porcelain figurines. "
From the WGermany stamp on the belly, we know this piece was manufactured somewhere between 1949 and 1990. He's in great condition! He measures almost 11" long by 5 1/2" at his widest point. At the highest point, he's 6 3/4". Beautiful piece! Please note that there are light reflections in the photos.
