Wine: Red Australia S. Austrailia McLaren Vale, 2001 Clarendon Hills "Hickenbotham" Cabernet

Description
This one is sure to be more generous than Latour in its youth. Bratasiuk calls this one "my Latour". Ripest and most powerful of their cabernets (14.5% alcohol). And this would be fun to compare to some of the 2000 First Growths 20 years down the road. If there has ever been a 100-point Australian cabernet, this is it (CWC)
If there's one big winner in Parker's recent Australian issue, it's the brilliant, uncompromising and surprisingly French-influenced McLaren Vale superstar, Clarendon Hills. As Parker said in his Buying Guide, "I am an unabashed admirer of proprietor/winemaker Roman Bratasuik's super-concentrated, muscular, full-throttle red wines, whether they be Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz, or his undeniable specialty, Grenache. Not only did Parker rate the 2001s he saw through the roof (and several top wines, he has yet to see!) ; he also took great pains to point out "the tremendous upside" of Clarendon Hills wines, that "they tend to score one to two points better after about three or four years of bottle age." Now given how astronomically high his 2001 scores already are, an extra point or two would put many of them in perfect score range! Parker also recently posted the following comment on his website (in a passage specifically devoted to extolling the unique virtues of Clarendon Hills)."
