Description
Talk a walking tour (up to 10 people total) with art historian, author, and BHSEC parent Michele Cohen to discover New York City’s public art, featuring the art found in its public schools. Tour will focus on the East Village, including such highlights as the modernist P.S. 34 by Harrison and Abramowitz, with sculpture by Mary Callery; and C.B.J. Snyder’s Washington Irving High School, filled with Progressive Era art. Tour includes a drawing to win signed copies of the recently released Public Art for Public Schools by Michele Cohen as well as The Art Commission and Municipal Art Society Guide to Manhattan’s Outdoor Sculpture by Margot Gayle and Michele Cohen.

Tour is for up to 10 members of the BHSEC community; $50 per person.
To be held Saturday or Sunday, June 6 or 7; or June 13 or 14, 2009, TBA (will not conflict with New York Architecture Walking Tour).
