A Brief History
Midwest Airlines grew out of Kimberly-Clark Corporation’s internal transportation service for executives. It formed K-C Aviation in 1969, providing aviation services to other companies and specializing in the meticulous customization of corporate aircraft. In 1984, K-C Aviation and Kimberly-Clark launched Midwest Express Airlines, which became a publicly traded company in 1995. In 2003, the carrier simplified its name to Midwest Airlines. TPG Capital purchased the airline in 2008, returning it to being a privately held entity.

Headquarters
Midwest Airlines is headquartered in Milwaukee, where its major base of operations is General Mitchell International Airport. A secondary hub is located in Kansas City. From these cities, Midwest flies to the East and West coasts, as well as many cities in between.

Aircraft and Seating
Midwest Airlines’ Boeing 717 fleet features Midwest Class, offering passengers a choice of both Signature and Saver seating in the same aircraft cabin. Signature seats – which are 4" wider than standard coach and offer added legroom – are available for purchase at booking or check-in. The aircraft feature adjustable headrests and footrests, as well as deeper overhead bins for carry-on bags.
