Description

Spend a day exploring the Rio Grande waterway with Bosque Ecosystem Monitoring Program (BEMP) Education Coordinator and naturalist Kimi Scheerer.  You will spend a delightful spring day on the Rio Grande, canoeing from the Alameda Bridge to Central Bridge, approximately 3 hours plus transportation time.  Learn about the curious beasts of the floodplain, bosque ecosystem dynamics and current management strategies while sunning and funning down the river!

Bosque School can commit 2 canoes, paddles and lifejackets for this trip.  3-4 passengers depending on age and size; additional canoes and canoers are welcome if other resources are found.  A beginners canoe lesson, binoculars and field guides will be provided.  The date of this trip is dependent on river conditions and will be scheduled with Kimi (ksche@bosqueschool.org) for the Spring of 2010.
