Affectionately known as "Pudge", Ivan Rodríguez is the best all-around catcher in the game of baseball. Pudge was acquired by the New York Yankees in July of 2008 from the Detroit Tigers. With thirteen Gold Glove Awards, fourteen American League All-Star appearances, a 1999 American League MVP, a 2003 National League Championship Series MVP, and seven Silver Slugger Awards, his record will without a doubt make the New York Yankees even more dominant. Rodríguez was a member of the World Series Champion Florida Marlins in 2003, played in the 2006 World Series with the Detroit Tigers, and represented Puerto Rico in the 2006 World Baseball Classic.
