My name is Jennifer Wilson, and I am the owner and an original founder of The Shops of River Square Center and Spice Home Furnishings. I invite you to visit with us soon and to enjoy a store that was created just for you. In 1997, Christi Proctor and I felt that Waco needed a unique place to find really cool stuff. Back then, there wasn't a lot happening in the downtown area, but we saw a really great opportunity. At the time, our 100-year-old building, formerly McLendon Hardware Company, was in the beginning stages of being renovated, and what many saw as an abandoned warehouse, we saw as a vision that could change the way people shopped in Waco. We wanted to create a fun environment for finding unusual items and to become a destination for people all over the state.
