K & L : "Most of the fruit for Far Niente's 2007 Chardonnay comes from Coombsville, a small growing area east of the city of Napa, where the rolling hills create a climate similar to the famed Carneros. This cool site, combined with Far Niente's no-malo approach and sur lie barrel fermentation (65% new, 35% once-used French oak) create a wine of wonderful texture  with vibrant, food-friendly acidity. Sweet peach, rose and tropical fruit aromas are offset by allspice notes, while the creamy palate follows a mineral vein, which complements the pineapple and melon flavors that dominate the palate. Built to last, this wine will continue to evolve in bottle, but is drinking wonderfully now, too."
