Dan Sharley, artist and fisherman, was born and raised in Memphis, and now resides in beautiful middle Tennessee. Largely a self-taught artist, Dan is most comfortable working with watercolor paints. His work is inspired by his surroundings and his activities, and traditionally portrays the things he loves most - including wildlife and, in particular, fish. His paintings are presented in vivid color, filling the paper with a blend of washes, broad strokes and intricate detail. An avid outdoorsman and dedicated fly-angler, Dan has appeared on the Outdoor Trail Magazine radio show and the Tennessee Crossroads and Tennessee Wildside television programs. In November 2007, he was the featured artist in the City Hall Rotunda Gallery in Murfreesboro, Tenn. Dan's painting "Home Water" graces the cover of the fly-fishing guidebook of the same name. When he's not painting, Dan can be found knee-deep in a nearby stream, casting for his next source of inspiration.
