Already a rider and want to get a group together for a great day out on the bike?
Then bid on this fun package put together by Rick and Sheri Pepper. They will tailor the package to your group’s interests and experience level.
Package includes:
• Cappuccino, juice and pastries to start the day
• Cycling bottles and caps for all participants, courtesy of Rick’s cycling apparel company elevengear (www.elevengear.com)
• One to two-hour, hands-on cycling mini-clinic covering bicycle maintenance, cycling positioning and other cycling topics as requested (tailored to experience level of participants)
• Road or mountain bike ride of suitable length and type for the participants
Mini-clinic topics could range from the basics to the very advanced:
Basics
• Parts of the bike and proper functioning
• Cycling safety essentials
• Itemization of essential tools to carry while riding and how to fix a puncture while on the road
• On-bike cycling position evaluation
• Cycling etiquette/road rules
• Great rides in Sonoma County
• Getting kids started on bikes
• Questions to ask when buying a bike
More advanced
• Paceline, echelon techniques
• Cycling to optimize speed & efficiency
• Sprinting, climbing, time trialing
• Making the most of a short workout
• Racing strategies
• Rick will work with the party to design the ideal ride (length and terrain) tailored to the participants’ interests and skill/ability level, from easy bike path stroll to a strenuous 100 km ride:
Road riding through Sonoma County
or
Mountain Bike at Annadel
• Finish the ride with an afternoon picnic prepared by Sheri
Special Instructions
Cycling enthusiast Rick Pepper is a Twin Hills/Apple Blossom parent with a passion for cycling. He’s been road racing since 1980 and has competed in countless road, track and mountain bicycle races. He’s been a national and state champion, raced with the U.S. national team overseas, and was twice selected for the U.S. Olympic trials. He met Sheri in a bicycle store in Southern California, and she says he’s a really insightful and patient cycling coach and guide, even if you’re as slow as she is on the bike. Plus he’ll make you laugh.
