Description

Traditional in both design and construction, this Tibetan Rug was woven in the old way using 100% high mountain Tibetan wool yarn.

  • Measures 4'6" x 6'6"

  • Vegetal dyed wool, hand spun, hand carded yarn

  • Woven in the traditional way on a vertical wooden loom

  • 100 knot, senneh knot construction

This handsome rug was made in the little village of Lao Tibet where villagers of all ages were involved in production of such works of art. The elders did most of the spinning while keeping an eye on the little ones of those who were doing the weaving. Men and women labored side by side to create such pieces and they filled the work place with song as they did their work.
