Description

Incorporating elements of classical music, as well as French haute joaillerie and Chinese fine art, Anna Hu jewelry bridges Eastern aesthetics and Western craftsmanship.

This gorgeous necklace, a signature piece of her collection, Anna Hu Haute Joaillerie, is generously donated by Anna Hu herself. The pearl, a symbol of purity, appears surrounded by five golden bats. The shape of the “bat” (its Chinese pronunciation is similar to “Hu” in Mandarin) is derived from the musical C-clef. The result is "Wu Fu Lin Men" meaning "5 good lucks and blessings arrive to your door." How could this beautiful work of art, from this extraordinary artist, not bring the best of blessings to its fortunate owner!

Born in Taiwan, Anna Hu was immersed in the art of fine jewelry at a young age, often accompanying her father to gem trading centers around the globe. An award-winning classically-trained cellist, Anna came to this country to study at the Walnut Hill School and New England Conservatory. When tendonitis precluded her career as a concert artist, Anna incorporated her love of music with her training in gemology, fine arts, and art history to establish a line of fine jewelry favored by a very select clientele throughout the world.
