Description
Opus One is the product of a collaboration between two of the world's best winemakers, Chateau Mounton-Rothschild in France and Robert Mondavi in Napa Valley. The wine was one of the United States' first ultra-premium reds when it debuted in 1984, and continues to dominate the category. We're offering a very special half case of Opus One's 1992 vintage. It's a blend of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and 3% Merlot with dark ruby color and spicy nose of cassis, lead pencil, and smoky oak. The wine's round, full-bodied, broad, fat flavors are crammed with black fruits, soft tannin, low acidity, and a fleshy, full-bodied finish. Noted wine critic Robert Parker gave this one a 92 out of 100 for good reason, it's a national treasure.
