Hit .314 (137x426) with 27 doubles, 28 home runs and 100 RBI in 115 games for Houston...led the National League and ranked second in the Majors in RBI at the time he was placed on the DL (Aug. 10)...incurred the season ending injury after being hit by a pitch on his left little finger on Aug. 9 at CIN...underwent successful surgery on Aug. 11, performed by Dr. Tom Mehlhoff, at The Methodist Hospital to correct multiple fractures in his left little finger...the surgery included pins being inserted into the finger and repairing complex nail bed lacerations...marked his first career stint on the Disabled List, a span of 1,480 career games without being placed on DL...was named Bank of America Presents the National League Player of the Week for August 4-10...led the NL with a .550 (11x20) batting average, a 1.100 slugging percentage, a .640 on-base percentage and 22 total bases, while also tying for the league lead with 11 RBI during the week...recorded his 1,000th career RBI on Aug. 8 at CIN with a three-RBI game...drove in 20 runs in his final 14 games of the season...his 100 RBI were 19 shy of his career-high 119, accomplished in 2007; was on pace to drive in 140 runs at the time of his injury...in 53 games from June 8-Aug. 9, he hit an MLB-best .385 (77x200) with 16 home runs and 53 RBI...RBI total in May (30) ranked T-1st in MLB, one shy of the club record for RBI in May (Bagwell, 31 in 1996)...in his last 36 games of the season, he had 56 hits (.400) with 11 HR and 41 RBI, which coincided with his return to the cleanup spot on June 28...hit .302 in the first-half...his 76 RBI before the All-Star Break tied his career high set in 2005 and ranked seventh in the first half in club history...in a career high 94 games in the first half, set a career high in hits (108) and at-bats (358)...on June 29 vs. CIN, recorded his 12th career grand slam and first since June 28, 2007 vs. COL...joined Miguel Tejada and Lance Berkman to homer in three consecutive at-bats in the 6th inning on May 2 vs. MIL off Carlos Villanueva...marked the fifth time in franchise history that the Astros have homered in three consecutive at-bats and the first since Aug. 31, 2004 at CIN (Beltran, Bagwell, Berkman)...recorded his 1,500th career hit with a 6th-inning homer on April 2 at SD.
