Description

Set of four framed migratory waterfowl stamps and low-numbered prints (#248/13,910).  A series depicting waterfowl in the four seasons.

First print: A trio of Wood Ducks slicing through Vermont's autumn landscape appears on the official 1986 "First of State" Vermont Migratory Waterfowl stamp and print.  This winning design by nationally-known artist Jim Killen was chosen in a competition held by the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department. The design is printed on acid-free paper using fade resistant inks. Image size is 6 1/2" X 9"; framed size is 17" X 17".  This print is number 248 of 13,910 printed this year.

Winter Goldeneyes is the second painting in Vermont's unique seasonal quartet, Waterfowl for all Seasons.  The 1986 First of State of three woodies slicing through an autumn sky met with great success.  In fact, collectors found the style of wildlife artist Jim Killen so appealing he was commissioned to complete the seasonal theme. Image size is 6 1/2" X 9"; framed size is 17" X 17".  This low numbered print is 248 of 13,910, indeed a rare prize.

The third print: In a secluded Vermont woodland, nature undertakes her annual renewal ... Spring.  Varied shades of green burst forth from winter's bare branches.  New Grasses and underbrush - some already in flower - rim the pond, providing a hidden nesting site for Vermont's black ducks.  Black Ducks in Spring is the third painting by artist Jim Killen in Vermont's unique seasonal quartet of prints. This limited edition print is 248 of 13,910. Image size is 6 1/2" x 9"; framed size is 17" x17".

The fourth print: Framed 1989 migratory waterfowl stamp and print numbered 248 of 13,910 by Jim Killen.  On a glorious summer day in Vermont, a proud Canada goose pair takes their newest brood into the refreshing, calm waters of Lake Champlain.  The goslings show off fluffy golden down against the lush backdrop of Vermont's Green Mountains.  Image size is 6 1/2" X 9"; framed size is 17" X 17".
