The Highland Lodge on Caspian Lake in Greensboro, VT was formerly the Simpson farm house built in the 1860's. The Simpsons supplemented the family income by taking in summer boarders at $12 per week. In the 1920's local businessmen founded what is today "The Highland Lodge".
In 1954, the Smith family bought the Lodge after summering in Greensboro for several years. The present owners are David and Wilhelmina Smith, the third generation innkeepers in the family. Highland Lodge is a family resort as well as an ideal place for quiet getaways. There are 8 rooms and 11 cottages, a sandy beach on Caspian Lake for boating and swimming and spectacular cross-country skiing in the winter. Fall Foliage is breath taking. The summer and fall season is from Memorial Day to Columbus Day and the winter season is from Christmas to mid-March.
The chefs at Highland Lodge prepare delicious meals using the freshest local ingredients vailable.
