Action Sports

This fast paced, high energy class is a big hit with students age 9 + who enjoy skateboarding, snowboarding, rollerblading and learning about the fascinating world of aerial awareness and aerial acrobatic stunts.  We currently have a 1/4 Pipe, Grind Box and a Launch Ramp for skaters and will be adding more "fun stuff" over the coming months. Training also includes Free Running on challenging obstacle courses, sports acrobatics, trampoline, mini trampoline, tumbling, Dragon's Tail, Middle Earth Wrestling, Extreme Elimination, Team Problem Solving Adventure Games, Capture the Crystal, Yoga, Dodge Ball and so much more. The program develops physical strength and agility, enhances focus and concentration skills and the harmonious functioning of the whole body. The training atmosphere is supportive, fun, as well as challenging.  All skills are taught in a systematic progression for safety and skill mastery.

Live Action Role Play

LARP or "Live Action Role-Play" is a theatrical, athletic, acrobatic and problem solving adventure game played in the Action Sports and Adventure Sports classes. It is fantasy role-playing with boffers. It is a Lord of the Rings meets Harry Potter with a dose of Star Wars all rolled up into a fun and exciting class offered by E.A.S.T. LARP is designed to inspire, uplift and motivate the creative spirit. Imagination, creativity and play all help young people grow and develop naturally. Training includes character acting, improvisational acting skills, stage combat and fun theater games. You may have played a tabletop role-playing game, seen a fantasy film such as the Lord of the Rings film, The Fellowship of the Ring or read a fantasy novel, and imagined yourself in the place of one of the characters. How would you react in the same situation? With Live-action Role Play you get the chance to find out. The aim of the game is to complete a quest that may involve physical stage combat (in a safe environment), solving puzzles, figuring out riddles, and talking to other inhabitants of the fantasy world. You will create a character with skills and powers you want to use. The physical characteristics of your character are your own rather than the dice rolls of table game.

Yoga

All of our students learn Yoga at E.A.S.T.  Yoga develops and strengthens the mind and body. Training includes physical postures, breathing exercises, meditation, visualization techniques and fun yoga games. Yoga increases balance, flexibility, focus, power and strength. It will also teach students how to relax, become centered and balanced.  Yoga is excellent for all types of athletes. Each pose is linked to the next through a series of connected movements. Postures are grouped together in more advanced sequences as a student progresses. The myriad health benefits of yoga are well documented by scientists and doctors.
