Description
Cedar ship model of the Phantom II, handcrafted by the Maine State Prison Industries inmates working in the prison workshop (on display at the Maine State Prison Showroom in Thomaston). Approximate dimensions: 28" long x 5" wide x 24" high. Phantom II was designed by Dennison J. Lawler. She was built in 1868 as New York Pilot #II. On March 14, 1886, she rescued 852 people from the sinking British Liner S.S. Oregon off the coast of Long Island. She was lost in the blizzard of '88 at Sandy Hook, New Jersey.

All items and gift certificates may be picked up at the Chamber of Commerce office on One Park Drive in Rockland. Gift certificates will be mailed to the winners at no charge. If the winner is unable to pick up an item, it will be shipped to them and they will be responsible for all shipping and handling fees, which will be added to the winning bid amount. Items will be shipped and billed at standard industry rates.
