Perkins Island, ME - 2008 Christmas Replica. It Lights Up! Number fourteen in the annual Harbour Lights holiday series honors the history of the Flying Santa that dates back to 1929. Perkins Island Lighthouse, Maine is the second piece in a three-year series. Journey with Captain William Wincapaw, the original Flying Santa, as he thanks the lightkeepers who guided him safely through many harsh New England storms. Today, the Friends of Flying Santa still visit many sentinels like Perkins Island, making Christmas dreams come true. This charming snow-capped replica features a blinking red light and detachable floatplane! Each resin beacon is hand cast, handpainted and comes with its own history, certificate of authenticity and registration card. All items and gift certificates may be picked up at the Chamber of Commerce office on One Park Drive in Rockland. Gift certificates will be mailed to the winners at no charge. If the winner is unable to pick up an item, it will be shipped to them and they will be responsible for all shipping and handling fees, which will be added to the winning bid amount. Items will be shipped and billed at standard industry rates.
