ROCKLAND BREAKWATER LIGHT 2007 Limited Edition 1st print edition Limited to 1000 prints (not numbered)

Sitting at the tip of a 0.8 mile stone jetty, Rockland Breakwater Light surrounds itself in a picturesque melange of sea, hillsides, ships and fresh air. As the tide recedes, it leaves a notable water line and seaweed on the granite blocks. One late September (2006) morning I chartered a boat and took along my sketchbook and camera. The captain and I traveled in a crescent pattern over the calm, moving seas while I searched for the right composition. As we gradually moved farther away from the lighthouse, the nearby Camden Hills magnified its presence. "That's it!" I exclaimed. A balance of sea, lighthouse, hillside, and sky provided the depth and drama I was seeking. The sun was shinning brightly that morning on the face of the lighthouse and flag, delivering a striking and memorable scene.

With an irregular (artwork) edge this art print does not require matting.
