Jim’s Place East Restaurant, family owned and operated since 1921, is located at 5560 Shelby Oaks Drive off Summer Ave. near I-40 and Sycamore View exit. Nestled on 2 acres of wooded surroundings, the restaurant was developed from an existing summer homesite belonging to Bill and Bessie Taras. Their two sons, Costa and Dimitri, and their son-in-law Angelo, are continuing in the fine reputation that developed from their downtown locations serving the Memphis area almost 90 years .
