Description

Talented St. Anselm's art teacher Liz Peak has donated one of her pieces, an etching titled, "Passing Storm", hand-printed on German Etching Paper and signed by the artist.  The view of Memorial Bridge was drawn from the Virginia side of the Potomac just off the GW Parkway.  Because this is an etching from life on location, when printed, the image reverses.  In this scene, Rosslyn is on the left and the Kennedy Center on the right when looking north toward the Cathedral.  Animals and boats are hidden in the turbulent landscape.  Ms. Peak considered the clouds, landscape and political nature of our city, and decided "Passing Storm" was a fitting name for this etching.

Special Instructions

"Passing Storm" is a signed etching (one of only 25 copies); handprinted on German Etching Paper, matted archivally.  Etching measures 16" x 29 1/2".
