Description

Bid on this framed press plate reproduction and capture the historic and exciting 2008 U.S. Presidential Election forever!  The Washington Post uses press plates to print the daily newspaper on its offset presses.  These presses are among the largest and fastest offset presses in the world.  The press plates are attached to cylinders in the presses.  The ink is "offset" from the press cylinder to a blanket cylinder.  Paper is pulled upward between pairs of blanket cylinders and printed on both sides at the same time.  This press plate is a reproduction of the plate that was used to print the front page on Wednesday, November 5, 2008, announcing the election win of then President-Elect Barack Obama.  The press plate has been professionally framed by Dodge Color, Inc.
