Maine's second highest peak at 4,237 feet, Sugarloaf is the only lift-serviced above-treeline skiing in the East. With a vertical drop of 2,820 feet, Sugarloaf offers some of the biggest skiing on the East Coast and more vertical than many western resorts, including Copper Mountain, Crested Butte, Grand Targhee, Arapahoe Basin, and Alta. There are 138 trails and 14 lift to choose from, with enough terrain to keep both the beginner and expert skier and snowboarder happy, including three terrain parks, a Superpipe, and snowboardrcoss course designed by Olypmic Gold medalist Seth Wescott.
