Communication Skills Group - Participation for One Child in 8 Weekly Sessions

Horses can be powerful in assisting youth to learn more about how they interact with others. This group focuses on appropriate communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal. By improving communication, we also improve behavioral skills and emotional management.

PBJ Connections focuses on treatment goals that youth are already working on, but in an experiential and fun environment. Through the group process, the horses provide a means to exploring and practicing appropriate interactions with peers and adults. Sessions take place in the barn and all sessions are facilitated by a licensed social worker and a certified horse professional. Sessions are primarily non-riding but will include hands-on experience with the horses.
