Description
This original work of art, by Candice Alexander, was commissioned for Auctions and Alibis 2010. Ms. Alexander's signature art series of "Fleur de Lis- Worlds Within" captures the essence of her topic at hand incorporated into a fleur de lis. For Southfield School, she incorporated the most precious traditions of the School including Maypole, Pumpkin Shine, Flag Ceremony, Civilization Fair, Book Fair, the Ringing of the Bell, Kite Day and more into one incredible work of art. To create Southfield Fleur de Lis, Ms. Alexander started with an original 5 x 7 print of the original copper engraving. She also used pieces of other drawings of hers such as the landscape of Food de Lis and the sky from Jackson Square. She then photographed those drawings and several others and made the entire piece digital, combining the oldest and newest printing technologies. She used a graphic tablet for special effects and printed it again. From there she painted and drew on the last layer to create the final piece, which is on canvas. This truly beautiful, exciting and colorful creation will perfectly commemorate your family's time at Southfield School. Candice Alexander donated her commission to Southfield School. Art framed by Shreve Frame Shop.
