Robert Hanlon, Toward Bold Island

The prolific and celebrated artist, Robert Hanlon, created this view from Gloucester of a gaff-rigged sailboat headed towards Bold Island. Painted on a wood panel, he used shellac over antique oils. In person, the painting is strikingly luminescent. Hanlon recently won Best of Show at the Marblehead Arts Society.
