Although the Zoltan Orkestar was voted 2nd Best Jazz Band in Albuquerque by the Alibi in their "Best of Burque" polls, that genre doesn't quite describe the range of their music.  Zoltan Szekely, who founded the band, was born in Romania and raised in Hungary and his style is influenced by both traditional Hungarian folk music (growing up, he watched the nomadic Roma bands) and American classical jazz.  He plays the guikulele, an instrument of his own devise combining a guitar with a ukulele.  He's joined by three other fine musicians and together they create a sound that is unique and infectious.
