Description
This is the ONLY time you will EVER have the opportunity to own this RARE piece of literary history: the actual boots Sandra Cisneros wore on the cover of her first published collection: My Wicked Wicked Ways. Along with the boots (signed inside and on the soles by Sandra Cisneros) the winning bidder will also get a signed copy of My Wicked Wicked Ways.
Richard Vargas, the writer who donated these boots, originally tried to return them to Sandra Cisneros when she visited the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque, but she wouldn't take them back. Instead, she signed them inside and out to authenticate that they were indeed THE boots she wore in the cover photograph, and asked him to donate them to a worthy cause.
About the donor: Richard Vargas published a small press poetry magazine, The Tequila Review, 1978-1980. His poetry has been widely published, and poems from his first book, McLife (Main Street Rag Press, 2005) were featured on Garrison Keillor's Writer's Almanac in 2006. His most recent book is American Jesus (Tia Chucha Press, 2007).
