Now, in case you were wondering: chromatography is an analytical chemistry tool that takes mixtures and separates them into their individual components.  Matthew generally deals with things that can be made gaseous, like perfume for example.  If you analyze perfume, it's a mixture of probably 100 components.  Since someone else can smell it, it can clearly be made gaseous.  Chromatography can separate most or all of those components so that you could measure each and every one of them.

His business, AIC Corp, is based on doing repairs and consulting for these types of instruments. If you have one of them and it's not performing the way it should, Matthew can fix it.  If you  have one and want to do something different with it, he can usually develop a method to do that new analysis for you.  Or if you want to get one of the instruments to measure whatever you need to measure, he can help you with the purchase and also set it up for you.
