AMERICAN GARDEN/ENGLISH ROSES - English Renaissance music for viols Parthenia viol consort, with guest ensemble The Rose Consort of Viols.

Acclaimed English gambist Alison Crum brings her ensemble, The Rose Consort of Viols, for a rare New York appearance, performing with America's own viol consort, Parthenia. In celebration of this English/American collaboration, the two consorts will explore the Tregian and Sambrooke manuscripts of Elizabethan and Jacobean viol consort literature that reside in New York City libraries. Works for 2 to 8 viols by Byrd, Dowland, Parsons, Purcell and East.
