The message here is really rather simple: 
Kids will learn to eat healthier if they learn to cook the foods they are being taught that have nutritional value. Beyond nutrition, learning the skill of cooking has many other values; it is educational, it is a social activity with family and friends, and it will bring an element of confidence to any child that accomplishes the skill.
