According to the 2003 edition of Robert L. Miller's Price Guide to M.I. Hummel, this piece was first released on the US market in 1993 as a free gift for renewing Hummel Club members. It bears the inscription "M.I. Hummel Club Membership Year 1993-94" in addition to a black flying bumblebee in a half circle.  Figurine size is 3.5".
