Description

Artist's sewing machine becomes her brush and the fabric and thread is the medium. The work starts with a photograph and then fabric is layered and then stitched using the free motion technique for each element of the piece.  Thread and tulle are used for shadowing and other accents.

Special Instructions

Nancy Morgan is a native of the Seacoast area and now lives in Shapleigh, Maine. While she has been sewing since she was a child, she was also a trained dancer at an early age. In college at Adelphi University, she studied dance and costume design.  Seven years ago, she was introduced to the technique of free style quilting and discovered a way to combine her interest in sewing and her artistic skills.
