For the winning bidder: a private tour and tasting of Schug Wines, at Schug Carneros Estate Winery in Sonoma, CA for up to twelve persons. To add flavor of the day's event, your unique tasting experience will be held in the romantic ambiance of our barrel aging caves. A selection of gourmet cheeses will be paired with these unique wines.
As former winemaster of Joseph Phelps Vineyards in the Napa Valley, Walter Schug crafted a legendary Insignia and Eisele Vineyard Cabernets of the 1970's and early 80's, as well as America's first Syrah. He founded his own label in 1980 to produce elegant Pinot Noirs and Chardonnay's from the cool climate Carneros Region in Sonoma County. Today Winemaker Michael Cox and managing partner Axel Schug carry on the tradition of excellence set by Walter, who retired in 2007 after a career spanning over 50 vintages in both Europe and California.
